Again, the republicans are doing everything they can to represent their real interests in opposing this act. They are telling lies about it to distort the matter in the minds of reasonable people who would otherwise be in favor of such great reform for workers.
Again, as I have always stated, this is about the difference between people who want workers to make nothing with no benefits, and those who want to enable workers to negotiate a better deal and have a share of the profits they create. Employee Free Choice does give workers a much better chance to improve their lot in life.
There is so much distortion by the opposition that honest and intelligent people should be scratching their heads and saying "methinks he doth protest too much"
Mr Republican Senator, who do you really represent?
These corporate muggers have had it their way for too long, and now it is the time for decent and sensible change. They are only concerned about their bank accounts. Why should they provide more for employees? The mindset is so obvious to those of us who have seen the other side of this coin.
UPS is the model for justifying the Employee Free Choice Act. Their CEO makes only 5 million a year, which is only about 1/2 of the average for major US corp CEOS. The workers earn more, have better benefits and more rights in the workplace, and guess what? UPS still made a profit in the first quarter of this year.
When the act passes, UPS will have a new business opportunity. How to survive and thrive even when your workers make union scale wages. They could call it "Consultancy USA" and make even more money teaching these other companies how to manage their money. Am I being dumb with this?
